At Glyndale Baptist, you will find a family of believers here that will love, support, and walk through life with you. As Christ offered Himself freely, we open to open our church freely to all who would come. You can join by profession of faith, transfer of letter from a church of like faith, or believer’s baptism.
If you are unsure about your relationship with Jesus or are curious about the Christian life, then perhaps you’ve come to this website looking for answers to your questions about God.
The Bible says that every person has been created with the knowledge that God exists and that only a fool says in his heart “There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1) What many people don’t know is that God created us for himself and he has made a way for us to know him personally; not simply as a God who exists, but the only God who loves, saves, keeps, cares for, and offers hope to those who trust him. You can know God personally and be united with him through Jesus Christ if you follow the plan He has given us in the Bible.
You can think of God’s plan as the ABC’s of Salvation.
A. ADMIT that you’re a sinner.
The Bible clearly teaches that “all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 No one born into this world can claim to be completely sinless and deserving of God’s approval. Because God is completely holy and pure he can not and will not treat sin lightly. His law demands that sin be punished and the punishment for sin is death. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life inOr through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 All men and women die because all men and women are sinners at heart living in rebellion against God. The death that the Bible speaks about is not just a one time event, but a continual separation from the God of love and goodness. Those who die in their sin will enter into eternal separation from God in a literal Hell. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15
In order to deal with this problem of sin we must first admit that the problem exists. No one can be saved without acknowledging a need for salvation.
B. BELIEVE Jesus is the Son of God. Our only hope.
Simply acknowledging a need doesn’t solve the problem of sin, but it causes us to want to find the solution. There are many philosophies and religions that claim to provide answers, but the Bible gives only 1 option and that is to believe in Jesus. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
There is nothing that WE can do to save ourselves. Jesus is the only person capable of saving men from sin because He is the only one who was, is, and will always be God (I and the Father are one.” John 10:30) and who also became a man capable of being the substitute sacrifice for sinners (Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” Galatians 3:13). Jesus died not because of the sin He committed, He had no sin, but because of the sin you and I have committed. He paid the penalty for sin. The Bible says that in order to receive the gift of salvation and the forgiveness of sins you must believe that Jesus died for YOU! (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16)
C. CONFESS to Jesus… then to the world!
Will you ADMIT that you are a sinner in need of salvation? Do you BELIEVE that Jesus is the only Savior who came into this world and paid the penalty for YOUR sin? Then Confess to Him your sin, Confess your belief in Him, and with the words of your mouth Confess your acceptance of His free gift of salvation. (If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9)
At the end of every worship service, we will offer you the opportunity to share your desire to receive Christ as your Savior and Lord and if you desire, to follow in Believer’s Baptism and become a member of Glyndale Baptist Church.
